When is hurricane season?
In the Atlantic (Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Florida) the official season runs from 1 June to 30 November; most hurricanes form from August to October, with the peak in September.
When is typhoon season?
In the western Pacific (Japan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, southern China) typhoons can form all year; the main season runs from June to November, with most storms from August to October.
When is cyclone season in the Indian Ocean and the South Pacific?
South of the equator (Mauritius, Réunion, Madagascar, northern Australia, Fiji) the cyclone season runs from November to April, with most storms from January to March. The northern Indian Ocean has two short seasons, in May and in November.
Where can you go in September without hurricanes?
